Another Arbitration Win!

Local 777, IFPTE is proud to announce that it recently won a second arbitration in the summer of 2026. This one was about a member who requested to use annual leave for an extended vacation. The Union tried to get the situation resolved at the lowest levels, filing grievances to try to reach an answer before the scheduled travel.

Ultimately, management did not agree and the case went to arbitration. (Arbitration is a court-like process where the Union and management make legal arguments, interview witnesses, and introduce evidence.)

In this case, the Arbitrator ruled that LRP management committed an Unfair Labor Practice by creating additional rules about leave without notifying and bargaining with the Union. Further, he ruled that management violated its own rules by treating leave requests differently than other disruptions like deployments.
