As we mentioned at our most recent union meetings, 2026 is time for our local elections. Officers will be elected for a 3-year term.
The election chair, Sister Lyn Nitz-Mercaeant from Chicago District Chapter, announced the following schedule for this year’s elections:
- October 10: An email will be sent to all members in good standing to verify contact information.
- October 19 at 1800 CDT: Deadline to be a member in good standing for the purposes of voter and candidate eligibility.
- October 20: Notice of the Nomination Meeting will be distributed by email.
- October 28 at 1200 CDT: Nominations will open (virtually).
- November 4 at 1200 local time: In-person nomination meetings in Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Sacramento.
- November 11: Notice of the Election will be distributed by U.S. Mail.
- November 27 at 1200 CST: Election opens (virtually).
- December 4 at 1200 CST: Election closes (virtually).
- December 9 at 1200 CST: Results announced at rescheduled Local 777 meeting.
The elections will be conducted in accordance with the Local 777 Bylaws and Title IV of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959, 29 U.S.C. 481–483.(Incorporated by reference by the Civil Service Reform Act 5 U.S.C. § 7120 (c), and its implementing regulations at 29 CFR 458.29.)

- Local Treasurer

- Chapter Lead Advocates
- Local Chief Advocate
- Chapter Lead Organizers
- Local Chief Organizer
- At-Large Delegates to the IFPTE 62nd Convention, Toronto, Ontario, Canada (2 primary, 1 alternate)
- Delegates to the Chicago Federation of Labor (4)
- Delegates to the Pittsburgh Central Labor Council (2)
- Delegate to the Sacramento Central Labor Council (1)
